Who is
Bo Vee?

Bo Vee has performed comedy since they exited the birth canal. They can't exactly vouch for this, but it tickles and comforts them to believe it.

Bo (they/them), formerly known as Bethany, is on a gender journey and boy (pun intended) what a ride it's been!

After spending their formative years with a video camera in hand creating comedy videos with friends, Bo obtained a B.A. in Theatre Acting from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.

After college, Bo went on to study Improv at The Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City and The Groundlings in Los Angeles.

Bo has performed stand-up, improv and sketch comedy for over a decade in New York City and Los Angeles including notable venues such as Gotham NY, Caroline's on Broadway, Stand-Up NY, The Comedy Store, Flappers and Second City Hollywood.

In 2018 Bo created, wrote, produced and performed the award winning two-person live show Lady Farts with comedy partner Maria Wilson for the Hollywood Fringe Festival to raving reviews. Lady Farts hysterically exhibited two unconventional "ladies" exploring their shame through personal stories, sketches, stand-up and confessions. By embracing their own oddities and embarrassing truths, they encouraged audiences to do the same.

In 2019, the Lady Farts Comedy duo created, wrote and starred in the award-winning short film Marry Me for the 48-hour comedy film festival. In 2020, Bo created the podcast S.H.I.T. (self.help.ideas.thoughts), in which they document their personal mental health journey while simultaneously getting sober during a pandemic. In these episodes, Bo embraces the comical aspects of mental health and shares wisdom from their own experience, with the hope to provide comfort and relief to those who are struggling.

In 2021, Bo debuted their first solo show I Have Too Many Feelings in the Hollywood Fringe Festival to delighted audiences and critical acclaim. In this multimedia, multi-character production, Bo tackles their own gender-queerness, being in the LGBTQ community, having ADHD, depression, anxiety, addiction and now sobriety, through sincere and hilarious storytelling.

Bo Vee resides in Los Angeles, performing stand-up comedy all around the SoCal area. They produce and host a monthly stand-up show called "QUIRKS" at The Clubhouse, which always includes a diverse group of comics with regard to gender, race and comedic style.

Bo is currently creating a scripted comedy series with writing partner, Oliver Defillipo. Bo stars in this series, playing a charismatic, yet squirrelly adult child, who is constantly at odds with themselves while their attempts to fix old behaviors spiral into hilarious, cringeworthy situations.
